We returned from our first common vacation which is said to be as a milestone in the process of becoming a real family. We’re entitled to say that it was indeed and was a milestone in many other respects. A holiday with a little one is the greatest fun.
It was time for playing self-forgetting, for father & son to get even closer to each other. I wasn’t afraid of travelling with Dominik, he is an angelic good little boy with an angelic patience, we are able to go with him anywhere. He exceeded all expectations and adapted himself to the occasion, what’s more he tought some adults manners. In spite of the great heat (appr. 45 degrees centigrade) he behaved very well, ate very well (I took him everything from home + the breast with me), slept very well (is better baby required?), was interested in other children very much and enjoyed splashing in the sea, under the shower and in the pool as well.
Our hotel was situated in the town of Incekum (means fine sand) near Alanya and was full of banana plantations. We were about to get tanned before my sister’s wedding, but we had to sunbathe with the greatest possible care as regard Dominik’s sensitive baby-skin. We avoided being outdoor in the noonday hours (from 11 AM to 4 PM), used hat and suntan lotion with high SPF number and make him drink a lot of water. There were lovely summer houses on the beach as a shelter from the hot sun.
Turkish people are really friendly and hospitable and adore children. Turkish cooking, Turkish bath, Turkish delight, Turkish fancyshops, (flying carpet, "Aladdin-pump"…) are famous worldwide. Hungarian and Turkish language show some similarity, some same words (anyway, I rather used English) of which reason is in history. See the 150 years of Ottoman Rule, the occupation of Hungary in the 16th and 17th centuries. One of our Turkish guide noted funnyly that the soup was delicious in Eger (Hungarian women threw boiling water up over the Turkish men climbing the wall of the fortress of Eger). The joy of getting back is full as fantastic as the holiday itself. Home, sweet home!
