June, July, August Topic: SUMMER!

Although, the first nuts and fallen leaves were discovered under foot, the morning and evenings became chilly, the sun goes much lower; the summer is staying henceforward! And what's more, it is just begin for me & my son. It was promised to fly and visit the sea this year as well. And... promise is a promise! The Mediterranean one again but this time from the Turkish side. And I insist on joining my mother. I want her to fly because she never has done this before and I want her to experience a 4*+ accomodation with all inclusive boarding and also want her to have nothing to do for a whole week.
Upon arrival from the foreign vacation, a season closing camping will waiting for us in Szigetköz. But this time, we have managed to rope in the cousins as well. We will be 16 of us there and surely will have lot of fun together.
As for the summer till now, we have spent a couple of days at the North shore of Lake Balaton including the visit of the famous Veszprém Zoo, some days in Füzesgyarmat at my cousin's place, some days with canoing in Kisbodak, spent some time at the best pleasure-grounds in the capital like The Amusement Park of Budapest, The Circus; there was a joint family Aqua Theme Park in Győr and carried on the testing procedure of different plages, of course...

Went Crazy. The Campaign.

It seems that there is quite a big contrast between the two-years-ago-myself and the current Rita, in private. Two years ago I hardly could speak about my status and see wonder now, I'm on giant posters on the streets of Budapest saying that I'm looking for the MAN. I became a part of a campaign of one of the most popular date site in Hungary (having no voice in the whole procedure at all). I wouldn't have thought that I could be the very person among the hundreds who has luck to excel from the crowd and attract the attention of many singulars from the opposite gender.

When somebody has an aim, he has to do steps to achieve that aim. Dare to dream in big. And it can happen that the dream comes true. This is the second time that I'm in the spotlight thanks to this site. Just the day before Xmas I composed my application in order to appear on the front page of this site, that can be seen by everybody who visit and enter the site. Just for fun in the hope that I get what I want. Got it; I was the choosen one out of the female applicants. Since then, I’m  the covergirl and additionally, it was found out that this is not the only page that uses my photo. I’m the covergirl of the next nine joint dating pages. Check these out:

We made a poster tour looking for Rita in different districts of Budapest as a Saturday morning engagement... There are five places altogether. (The fifth was just under construction at that time.)

Partytime

It took some days for both of us to calm down. When there is a big project that makes you prepare a lot before, the feeling with which you go to bed that night and what you feel the following days, that is my favourite. It is about something like this: I did it, not anyhow, it was definitely worth, it is over but not vanished into thin air!

As Dominik has to go to the nursery for a few weeks even in summer, now we had luck to bring some cakes and celebrate his birthday among nursery frames as well. On 24th July, I picked him up after lunch and dedicated the whole afternoon for his wishes. Cinema, popcorn, playing house, toy stores, McDonald’s - while using as many escalator as we could.

The re-establishment of the house took a couple of days just like the build up of the party. I had more to do by the last day as originally planned because we celebrated Peter’s 40th birthday the previous night that crossed my schedule a bit.

The script

05:00 Getting up early to add the last but one touches to the house, to put the things in a safe place that needed. But my very first thing was to look out for the sky but was too early to draw any conclusion.

07:00 Having a shower, hair washing and curling; asking God for giving no rain

07:45 Dominik got up

08:00 Fast breakfast

08:45 Being at the best place to get little farewell gifts; getting privileged parking area after saying that we are purposeful and in a hurry. Discussing the weather with the shop assistant who said that there is no rain today

10:00 At the shopping mall to get the fresh ingredients and the very last accessories such as the spiderman candle. We met one of the nursery teachers and let her know what we were preparing for. She said that it cannot rain. The cashier also said that she crossed her fingers for being not rainy.

11:00 Getting home; final hoovering; finalizing indoor decoration

12:00 Wanted Dominik to sleep with the thought of the avoidance of the rain

12:15 Dad & Lajos came to blow up the balloons; Dominik did not want to sleep of course; starting to organize the backyard, cleaning and moving everything out that needed; praying for no rain

14:00 Finally, Dominik fall asleep and woke up exactly by the time the balloon castle had arrived

15:15 Balloon castle arrived and was fully ready in 10 minutes

16:00 First guests arrived

16:30 Cotton-candy time by cotton-candy machine

17:00 Presentation

17:30 Pizza-time by home-delivery service

18:00 Some raindrops started to fall down; praying for no rain, no rain, no rain

18:15 Spiderman cake time

18:45 Sisters and brothers time

19:30 Last guest left, only relatives stayed

20:00 The packing down of the balloon castle is a spectacle itself

21:00 Everybody left, what remained: stiffness, satisfaction, beautiful presents!...

22:00 Started to rain - endless thanks for God for the timing!

Almost 5

Busy, busy, busy... Has anybody seen a boring summer ever? This is what the season is about. Brilliant engagements, outdoor activities, birthdays, one after another. And we are very near to the most important one! We are preparing for Dominik's special day in mind and in acts for months. But this week I really do my best to achive the preplanned conception. The biggest challenge is my time-table. It requires much effort that everything will be executed in time after the office hours. I hope that I'm smart and hardy enough to provide a clean, orderly, children-friendly, stylishly decorated environment and to create some titbit for our little guests.

This is how we made DIY invitation cards step by step.

1. Collect the needful quantity of toilet paper rolls.
2. Go outside.
3. Have a child and make him busy because you’re going to create.
4. Needed your tempera selection, 1 x paintbrush, 2 x disused toothbrushes.
5. Paint the rolls with different colours carefully.
6. Wait until full drying.
7. Bring out a disused toothbrush and give it to the child.
8. Show him how to make paintspots with the help of it on a plain paper.
9. Bring out another disused toothbrush.
10. Plunge it into tempera but use the more distinct colour than the colour of the certain roll.
11. Make dots with the help of the painty toothbrush and your thumb onto the rolls round and round.
12. Prepare the optinal personalized cards while the rolls are drying.
13. Fill the rolls with some sweets, small stickers and don’t forget to put the invitation cards inside.
14. Fold the bottom and top edges of the rolls 2 x 2 times in order to get a lovely pillow-shape.
15. Tag with names or nursery signs.
16. Forward them to the consignees.

Report from the Szigetköz

Just back from a zippy weekend spent in Kisbodak, close to nature, 160 kms far from Budapest. Szigetköz is an island plain in Western Hungary, part of the Little Hungarian Plain. The name literally means island alley, because the territory is located on an island. Its borders are the Danube and its branches; with a length of 52.5 km, with an average width of 6–8 km, and with a territory of 375 km², the island is Hungary's largest one.

Arrived on Friday afternoon, settled down circumspectly, pitched the tent easily, fell asleep excitedly hearing the slight noises of the forest and looked forward to the next day canoeing.
More-hour water tour twice a day on Saturday, bulging muscles, interesting and useful information about canoeing and the river by a perfect guide named Dani sitting in the same boat with us as a steersman.  Powling around in a spectacular swamp, enjoying exciting scenery. Two boats pitched over. Joint dinner made in a stew-pot.
On Sunday, further canoing was followed by landing then visiting rapids and fish-ladder. Rowing back with the thought in my mind that I don’t want to stop doing this, I don’t want to go home. Hug the coast, started to feel what canoing means. Just you, the silence, the soft splashing of the paddles. Naturally, flourished with some bird song…

Elizabeth & Nandi

We are lucky to have such a lovely couple so close to us. Elizabeth and Nandi spent 2 months in Hungary, participating in our everydays and we were sharing each other’s joys and sorrows. Two months proved to be too short. Anyhow, we miss you and look forward to our next encounter. Thank you for all the memories you gave us!

Long weekend #4

During the fourth long weekend more noted event took place together. It was Whitsun (this is why we had an extended weekend), Children's Day and the very beginning of Passió.
We had the pleasure to see the very first performance that was amazing - apart from the fact that it was cancelled in the middle of it because of the rain and stormy wind that made us going down from the hill. I felt sorry about it because I really enjoyed it and Dominik, too. This special open-air show sends us back to the age of Jesus Christ in every third year – just like the famous movie, Ben Hur. It is staged on our hill with live animals, period dresses, hundreds of crowd artists, professional lighting and sound technology. But the most cathartic for me is the feeling that I’m thrilled with from the time I enter the hill seeing the preparations, children running about in their costumes, hearing horses neighing... Sitting on the auditorium while the breath of wind strokes my face, above is the sky, Jesus is in front of me and the same breeze touches the clothes of the performers, so this is why I feel that I can be a part of this play in real…

"Azért, mert szerettek, jöttem e világra,
s lettem új fény, csillag, szülők boldogsága.
Szeressetek mindig igaz szeretettel,
A kincsetek vagyok, pici kincs, de ember!"

Nursery Photography & Partying

As nobody was satisfied with the output of the photographer in the nursery last year, a real artist was invited to take gorgeous photos of the children this year. An artist with international background, borned in Caracas, Venezuela but with Hungarian roots. The children were asked to take something from their parents to creating the proper composition...

Party-time! Nowadays Dominik is invited to birthday parties week by week, girlish and boyish as well. I usually just give him a lift and pick up at the end of it. Meanwhile, he is already busy with planning his own birthday. I also started to find out and work out the invitation cards, reserve the big baloon castle and ask the parents of the potential guests about their holiday schedule. Probably, we have to bring forward the date.

Mother's Day 2012

Two from the numberless lovely poem that was heard with the biggest love exist:

Tali Gitta - Úgy szeretlek!

Reggel, mikor nyitom szemem,
téged keres tekintetem.
Hozzád bújok, átölellek,
-Anyucikám! Úgy szeretlek!

Te vagy a családunk fénye,
mindenkinek jótündére.
Azt kívánom én ma neked,
legyen boldog minden heted.

Tali Gitta - Legyen többször!

Anyák napja legyen többször,
legalább egy héten ötször!
Árasszuk el gyengédséggel,
puszival és öleléssel,
ANYUKÁNKAT,...azt a drágát,
kinek nem találni párját!

Long Weekend #3

I do not remember if we could start the open-air bath season so early ever, even in April. In fact, I cannot remember indeed because there wasn’t such warm since the 1930’s. Beleive it or not, the temperature record fell each and every single day of the long weekend.
To cut a long hair short, we started the hot weekend at the hairdresser. Then me and my sister spent the morning at the fair which is organized twice a year to get some piece of clothes for the children. Those sell their children’s clothes and toys there who do not need them any more and in this way we can get several brilliant pieces extremely cheaply. I was focusing on clothes designed by Dominik’s current favourite cartoon heroes (Spiderman, Bakugan, ScoobyDoo, Cars) for his greatest pleasure, of course.
The following day we enjoyed the sunshine at the local plage. The cooling wind was blowing all day long, sprinkling us with the water of the fountain from the children’s pool. My little son put on his biggest smile once his feet touched the water and wore it on his cuddly face during the whole day.
Szentendre - with the best possible company, with Elizabeth & Nandi from Calgary. The walking tour was completed with May Day feeling and also a little climbing at the end of the day, up to the hill of which foot my parent’s house is located. I report that the auditorium has already been ready for the Budaörsi Passió 2012! It is an upcoming open-air show about the life of Jesus Christ that sends us back to the past in every third year. This is something that shouldn’t be missed, in consideration of the full-dress rehearsal.

April Topic

Safety first! The happening of that night in the recent past made me to be much more careful and conscious regarding burglary-defense, security technology and safety measures. We had luck this time but it could have happen in another way, with a much worse outcome. Since then I sleep more watchfully, I usually wake up in the middle of the night keeping my ears open and hardly can fall asleep again. I always doublecheck everything with the help of Dominik before going to bed. The alarm system is repaired and in use now. In case somebody is not lacking in courage to enter my house, he cannot be able to enter undetected or if so, I guarantee that he won't have a smooth escape!
