As difficult this vacation was finally realized, the more
determining it turned. All started with planning a car tour with Juli and the
kids around North Italy and down till Tuscany. Verona, Lake Garda, Gardaland,
Modena, Firenze, etc. Accomodations via airbnb, stops on demand. Later two then
three more people wanted to join us, therefore we checked the possibility of
hiring an RV and settle in a camping. Once we calculated the costs, we found it
too high. And the preferences differed. Different things were important for 5
different people. Then we looked for another destination. First Bulgaria then
Turkey. Although, finally not in full number as originally planned but at least
3 of us plus children resigned ourselves to going on holiday to Turkey.
Umpteenth time for me and for Dominik spending summer time
in Turkey. If it was only up to me, I’d rather had chose another country but
was ready to compromise, of course. Turkey is popular among Hungarians because
such holidays are affordable, service is full board, there are good shopping
possibilities, kid-friendly atmosphere, lively night life, great beaches, many
kinds of water sports, gorgeous facultative programs and a lot of sunshine. So
everything that is needed for a perfect vacation. And finally, the whole
holiday turned out so well therefore we decided to return with the same company
every year.
We discussed what to do during the week. Agreed in
spending much time on the beach in the sea and decided to register some fun-inspired programs
like off roading on 4x4vehicles and rafting. Enjoying joint breakfasts, lunches and dinners at
the hotel, we talked a lot, and sometimes these conversations between Gabi
& me took much longer than dining. Sometimes far into the night. By the second half of the week we got used to the dewy sultry heat and to the often heard muezzins (call to prayer) from the mosques.
Dominik's birthday was involved in our holiday. Once one of the waiters (Erdin - we just called him 'The Elf' between us) got to know this, he mixed a special coctail especially for him at the bar and even folded a rose from a papernapkin and said Dominik to give it to his mother. The other day, a beautifully layed table was waiting for us at dinner time with a big heart made from flowers. Further to these attentivenesses, I was invited for a date. At this stage, not by Gabor but by The Elf...
